The History

To illustrate our history, it’s necessary to start from the roots; as is known, the deepest roots are able to better support the stem and the branches, that will give life to the buds and the fruits. It is good to start introducing a great woman, who has represented and left her indelible imprint upon the history of the family: Agar Sorbatti. Born in Loro Piceno in 1900, she became the first engineer of the Marche in 1923. Her nickname was Camà.

A name that, in her honor, has been attributed to the label of a great wine produced by Tenute Murola.

The story became intertwined with another key figure of the family when Agar’s daughter, Fede Bonati, married the young officer Antoni Mosiewicz. Antoni, named Antek by the relatives, was born in 1913 (the exceptional Merlot of Cantina Murola bears his name). Its history is enormously conditioned by the Second World War in which he participates and stands out with great merit. He participates in the liberation of Italy that will become his second homeland.

The sons of the Mosiewicz – Jurek, Robert, Enrique, Ferdy and Rita, continue the work of their father managing the family business.

In the 80s Villa Virginia Superior was acquired and became the gathering place of the family in Stresa. The house is a striking example of the architecture of the early twentieth century, with elements in Art Nouveau style. The rooms are adorned with amazing paintings, a great tapestry, antique furniture and furnishings in classic style dating back to 1800. On the two floors, there are four elegant bedrooms, one of which was designed by the famous architect Gio Ponti. The strength of the building is the lookout tower overlooking Lake Maggiore.

The park, where a spring of water gushes, had been arranged with remarkable styling and it protects species of century-old trees. Sculptures and marble statues embellish the outdoor zone, combined with a stone fountain and other refined furnishings.

Next to the Villa Virginia Superior, stands Villa Virginia Luxury with its V-shaped structure that seems to encircle the pool. The Villa has been completely renovated by the family, with an eclectic style and modern references. At the entrance of the Villa you can admire the beautiful decorative mosaics.
